Let's be real: MS Project 2003 is obsolete!

Hi,

Are we serious about this in the Codeweavers project?
Anyone working on project management needs MS project (pro) 2007 to work! 2007 is the standard used for Project Management in any business. Who cares whether the 2003 version works or not. If it does work, you won't be able to open/read/make changes/resend any 2007 file that your colleagues will send you.

Please make the 2007 version work and forget about the 2003... I feel so stupid for the money i spent on Codeweavers...!!

Thank you,
David

I think a number of older programs are perfectly applicable to allocate resources to their refinement. Many of the changes in one program transition into the next version, which may also introduce additional obstacles.

As a very loose comparison, Office 97 may work flawlessly. Office 2003 may not work at all. Office XP may partially work. Accommodating changes needed to make Office XP usable may provide direction that leads to making Office 2003 partially work. With each version, the cycle continues. Even if we we can all agree that people do not want to run Office 97, we may need to refine it for the sake of the current release. It's really not much different from repairing a car. Improving from a starting point is much quicker than starting with nothing. Even mechanics who do eventually build custom cars have to start their learning on something with more of a starting point.

Personally, Project 2003 still does plenty of what I need, but we don't share project files outside of the company.
