After innstal in win 2k bottle, when starts project, send me a message about cant open gbui:\mainpage.html, I found the fix in this microsoft page:

I try the last repair editig registry

Go to "run windows command" chose the apropiate bottle (where project is installed)
type regedit
Follow instruction and restart

ready!!

I applied this and it worked. I had to make sure I was in the correct bottle first, and went to the menu to "Run" and then followed their directions. I had to do it twice, as one time the GBUIDisplayToggle setting defaulted to "1" and needs to be "0" or NULL. I can now open the files I created before on a hp computer. However, I cannot open 2007 files, and cannot get the 2003 project update SP3 to work. It starts installing, looks like everything is going well, and then ends saying it cannot apply the update. I can open/save/update files.

I was experimenting with this a bit more, and found another approach. You can avoid this problem altogether if you install Internet Explorer 6.0 first (and in a Win2000 bottle) and then install Microsoft Project 2003 (in the same bottle). Unfortunately, for me I was only interested in using Crossover Office for my Project needs, and therefore I didn't think of installing IE first (no need). Nevertheless, this approach avoids editing the Registry which can be difficult and unforgiving.
