I installed Project 2003 in a win2000 bottle after installing Office 2000 in a win98 bottle (with crossover office 5.0.1). To my surprise it works. It only starts and finishes with a remark that Global.mpt cannot be opened, but it works after clicking away this error message!
I got the same error messages regarding Global.mpt however, I cannot open project files (.mpp) that were previously saved using the Windows version. I can create new projects, but what good is that?
