Cannot paste chart from Excel 2003

Hi if I try to paste a chart from Excel 2003 into PowerPoint 2003, I get the following message:

"The server application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned an unknown error. You may need to reinstall the server application."

Any help would be appreciated.
