Exchange connects on startup, then disconnects later

I'm using Crossover 9.1 with Outlook 2007 on Mac OS 10.6.4. Got everything up and running perfectly (great piece of software BTW!). The only issue I'm having is that when I first start Outlook, my Exchange account connects to the server with no issues, downloads and syncs email, calendar, etc just fine. Then, some time later -- usually about a day or so -- it disconnects and cannot be reconnected. The only solution is to shut down Outlook and restart it, which is obviously not a desirable workaround. Any tips or advise?

Also, along the same lines, I'm having issues getting Outlook to actually close. When I give it the command to close (by either going File > Close, or clicking the X in the upper right corner), it just hangs. It never actually closes. The only way to force it to close is to either use the Force Quit command through the Mac OS or by shutting down the bottle that it's in.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi.
I am using Outlook 2007 every day ("never") shut down computer except reboot for new kernel. - never seen such issue.
But for troubleshooting: what does it take to make it work later ? - just kill outlook.exe works ?
Also: try a fresh bottle created in 9.1 , if your bottle is x versions old.

Thanks for your reply, Andre. To answer your question, in order to make it work again, I simply need to kill Outlook.exe (sometimes requires killing CrossOver) and then restart it.

Since this is my first foray into CrossOver, v9.1 is my first version, and Outlook and its bottle were created in this version. So an old bottle is not the issue (though it was a good thought).

FWIW, I'm using Outlook 2007 and Crossover 9.1 on a PC under OpenSuse 11.1 and I have both problems. Neither has been so annoying as to make me give it up. I usually leave it running 24/7 and it loses the connection every 2 or 3 days. I just make sure to check the status on the bottom of the window frequently. When I quit I can tell if it's going have startup problems because the icon is still in the system tray. I'm a command-line guy--I always have a window open somewhere--and I just wrote a script to kill it. It's much faster than using cxreset.

Both problems have existed for quite a while. Recent versions of Crossover have greatly improved the ability of Outlook to stay connected. Back in the Crossover 7.x days I had to restart Outlook 2 or 3 times per day.

ok, since our WINE enviroment is the same, it's interesting to compare the Office...
Outlook 2007 12.0.4518.1014
Exchange server 2003 6.5.7638.1 (SP2 + some Exchange Patches) installed.
And "no", I don't think server version should matter..

Rick - glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue!

Andre - my Outlook version is:
Outlook 2007 (12.0.6423.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)

Don't know how to get the Exchange Server version, but I believe it is some variant of Exchange 2003.

Seems like I am running a slightly later version of Outlook than you. Does this information help you at all?

Outlook 2007 (12.0.6423.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)

Exchange Server 2007 (8.2.176.0). I got the server version by running the Web client. There's an 'About' tab there that gives that info.

no the difference in version numbers does not help me directly, but I would like you to try that version.
I am running it continuously on my computer @work (Ubuntu 10.04) never seeing these issues. - the computer is not being shutdown or restarted unless kernel updates.. and I do not run pre-releases, so it's not often.

I would be happy to try the version you are running, but how can I get it?

Try this: http://dl.btjunkie.org/torrent/MS-Office-2007-Enterprise-Blue-Edition-h33t-aNDYpANDY/0635f7334c8778944a97f297ed5ba276a21afefe36ee/download.torrent
it looks like pir8ted stuff, but the company I work at, is still fully licensed using Select agreement - so I can choose any product I need.
Blue edition is the OEM one, that does not ask for no serial number. - I think it's the same as our CD's.
