Can't restore window when integrated with Linux Window Manager

I am running on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron and running with the default window manager (gdm).

When I maximize the window, I can not restore it ever again. I can only minimize and close it. Also when it is maximized, when I open a menu bar item (ie. File or Edit) the entire screen goes grey and the menu is displayed in the upper left hand corner. The Actions menu only sometimes works when maximized.

If I use the winecfg utility to disable integration of the window manager, then Outlook displays on every screen and does not show in my window list. Also when I minimize it, it shows a very bad looking white text on black background icon over the top of my existing windows list.

Has anyone encountered a solution to this problem? If so please let me know. Thank you.
