Outlook 2007, Installs but Crashes

I can now install Outlook 2007 from our corporate installer (which wasn't possible on 7.0.0; good work, guys!) and get to the point where I can set up my Exchange account. It asks me for my password over and over and then crashes. The same setup works in Outlook 2007 in WindowsXP in a VM (I had both running, so I know I was taking the same steps).

Much closer than the last time I tried, but there is some work to go.

Run Outlook in cached mode and it should work. We had the same issue on live mode but cached works like a dream.

How do you configure it for cached mode? I don't know the distinction between cacched and live, but if you're right then I'm psyched!

Once you get it working, what problems have you seen?

If you are using Exchange follow this and it should work:

Go into Crossover - Configuration - Manage Bottle Tab - Configure - Click Control Panel Tab - Click Mail icon
Click your profile name - click properties - click email accounts - click change -select "Cached Mode" - next all the way out.

Chad, I am running into the same issue of constant crash / restarts. I have tried both cached and non-cached mode and get the same results. If I am not connected to a network it loads fine and I can work with the app in offline mode.

One odd thing that I stumbled across is that I authenticate with my exchange server then I see a window for a 2nd authentication come up. The 2nd window is for my corporate AD server. If I go right to that window and put in my credentials it immediately crashes. If I wait for Outlook to fully load before entering my AD credentials the app will fully connect to exchange and appears to work correctly - SOMETIMES... Other times it goes right back to the crash.

Is this an authentication bug causing the crash???

All other MS Apps in the same bottle seem to be working fine.

Thanks, Michael

If I tick the save password box on the authentication box to my Exchange server, Outlook crashes, every time. If I don't tick the save password box, it always seems to start up and work fine (although it will occasionally freeze).

I using Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2003 with RPC over HTTP on Mac OS.

The save password box does not work at all, so no point in clicking it. You have to login each day, unless you are like me and go weeks between reboots.

Thanks Chad and Jason! You were right on... No click of the box and it loads fine.

Late to the party, but I had the same problem and can confirm that unchecking "Remember Password" stopped the crashing.

Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but that "solution" doesn't really kick it.

It does indeed stop crashing when you don't save your credentials, but I'd really like to save my password for further use. Do you have any idea how that could be achieved?
