CXOffice 6.1.0, Ubuntu 7.04, Outlook Crashes Every Few Minutes, RPC over HTTPS

Ubuntu 7.04
CXOffice 6.1.0

I got Outlook up and running in a Win2003 bottle and set Outlook to understand it is operating in XP and every few minutes it crashes.

If I work off line it doesn't crash.
If I do a manual send and receive it doesn't crash.
However, if I run online it crashes every few minutes. It does this with automatic send and receive disabled, too.

Any thoughts?

... And if I turn of RPC over HTTPS, all is good. No crashes.

I got Outlook up and running but every few minutes it crashes when RPC over HTTPS is enabled.

Setup:

Ubuntu 7.04
CXOffice 6.1.0
Win2K bottle by default (same happens when it's an XP or Win2K3 bottle by default)
Outlook is presented with an XP bottle (same happens when it's presented with a Win2K or Win2K3 bottle)
Dell Inspirion laptop
Outlook operating in Cached mode with offline folder, delivering mail to Mailbox (not PST)

Symptoms, when RPC over HTTPS is enabled:

If I run online with RPC over HTTPS enabled Outlook crashes every few minutes
If I work off line with RPC over HTTPS enabled Outlook doesn't crash
If I do a manual send and receive with RPC over HTTPS enabled Outlook doesn't crash
Even with automatic send and receive disabled with RPC over HTTPS enabled Outlook crashes every few minutes
Although it happens on its own every few minutes I can apparently make it happen right now by opening an Outlook folder that needs to be sync'd

Symptoms, when RPC over HTTPS is disabled and I sync old fashioned way, on the LAN:

Things work fine; no crashes

Any thoughts?

Robert,

Thank you for your detailed investigation. These forums aren't well suited to trying to figure this out, though. If you haven't already done so, please open a support ticket. We're very interested in fixing bugs in Outlook.

Thanks
Ken

I am having the same issue as well running Fedora 6 and 7 on a t43 stinkpad. If there is a fix please post it if its not too much to ask. But i am having the same exact issue to the "T" If I make outlook work offline everything is stable. Now even my IE which is in another bottle is having the same behavior, but that might be unrelated.

Thanks,
DP

Hey folks, I think we've got an experimental fix for this.

If you can open a ticket, we'll can get it to you.

I'm so excited. I've got a ticket. Ticket 128321.
