Sky drive sync

I was really excited when I found out that wine 1.4 had support for microsoft office 2010, as I am desperate to get onenote with sky drive sync working however when I go to login it's service is unavailable.

Is anyone able to help me with is error?

Thank you in advance

Adam-

I just uploaded a CrossTie file that can be used to install OneNote 2010 on a Mac. I haven't yet tested it on Linux but I see no reason why it wouldn't work as well. I did notice that SkyDrive was not available - I'm working on getting that resolved right now. It makes sense, since it isn't part of the CrossTie (yet). Again, I'll be working on that and hopefully post a solution shortly.

Also note that this CrossTie doesn't install DirectX (again yet), so recording functionality (video or audio) will not work.

Work in progress but still better than what we had! Check out the "Tips & Tricks" section to download the CrossTie file.

Thanks Tom, you are right it is alot better than what we had. The cherry on the top of course would be if skydrive and audio/video worked :)
Will be following your progress closely
Thanks again
Adam

whether there were any news about the skydrive sync?

Any news/tricks for the sky drive sync?

I am absolutely !@!!@#!@#ing delighted that OneNote works so well in Crossover now, with SkyDrive sync I will have my killer app finally!

Hi guys,

Can we get an update on this?

OneNote with SkyDrive sync is the single reason why I am interested in CrossOver.

Thanks
Joe

I'd love for this as well!

I wonder what the cause of the limitation is? Are there some frameworks that need to be loaded in order to make this available? I wouldn't know where to begin trying to track this down.

I am new to codeweavers, so i can´t help......is there any progress?

I would really like to help, but I don´t know how. Are there any Tutorials or sth. similiar, so that I can start myself trying to indentify the problem?

Would it help if i would use this (http://www.dependencywalker.com/) to figure out all the .dll`s used by onenote in the "real" Windows version?

I've noticed a flurry of activity on this thread recently so decided I'd add my voice to it.

Currently I use VMWare Fusion to run windows applications on my Mac. That's ok for many types of applications but not for a note-taking app like Onenote. I want to have OneNote running all the time and to do this via Fusion virtual machine significantly compromises the battery life on my laptop.

So the key reason I am interested in Crossover is to be able to run Onenote all day long in a more efficient way than via a virtual machine. I've trialled Crossover several times in the past but have never purchased it due to poor compatibility with Onenote. However, based on the current silver status, Onenote must be running reasonably well in Crossover now. But as long as skydrive sync is not working, Onenote via Crossover will remain useless to me and I will have no incentive to purchase Crossover. Please do all you can to get skydrive sync working and I will become a crossover customer.

frowny-sad ☹️

He together,

has anyone an idea what happened with sync-update/upgrade now?
I want to buy codeweavers but without skydrive in onenote its useless.. :(
Please help us @ Tom! :)

Greetings

SkyDrive sync for OneNote 2010. This is really the only reason I want purchase Crossover. I know everyone else has asked, but is there any activity on implementing this feature? Anyone know what the current problem with it is?

Seems like we'll have office for mac 2014 before this gets fixed :/ (will include onenote supposedly)

I've noticed that this thread has been dead for some time. I, however, am still looking for a solution to this problem and was wondering if anyone has solved it. I'm successfully running MSOffice on Ububtu 12.04 using Wine, but apparently the dlls required for syncing with skydrive are still not available. With the recent Wine update (1.6), is there any headway on this issue?

~Thanks!~

Any progress?

Anyone got Skydrive sync working yet?

Here's what I did, now have Notebooks synchronized between my Windows laptop at home, my tablet, and my work Ubuntu. It's not SkyDrive sync, but it works nonetheless.

I use a cloud provider that has sync agents for all platforms (I use Dropbox, but I assume Copy, UbuntuOne, etc. would work just as well). Install the agent to synchronize folders. I do NOT use the native Windows Live / SkyDrive sync in OneNote.

On your Windows machine, move the destination of the synchronization to a folder within the dropbox folder. Once there, any changes are synced immediately (so long as you have an internet connection).

On your Linux machine, open OneNote and open the notebooks directly from your synced dropbox folder.

Works well enough, you can even have the note open on multiple devices and they will update dynamically.
