I had O365 running OK for awhile, but every so often it would just die and need a reinstall. I had taken to making a backup copy of a working bottle so when one died, I would just switch to the backup (and, of course, back it up again).
However, recently, I couldn't get it to run or install. Tried a lot and finally fell back to O2016 which was OK.
But with 22.1.0 I tried again. Mostly back to where we started. A few notes:
1) First time the installer died, but it sort of worked. But logging in kept failing. Actually, it worked once but crashed. It then acted sort of like I was already logged in but wasn't and I could break out of it. So I reinstalled in a fresh bottle. That time it worked.
2) I have found turning off DXVK, CSMT, and ESYNC gives the fewest crashes. But I can't prove that.
3) If you have trouble with an app starting, try to restart winbindd (on my system sudo systemctl restart winbind).
4) OneDrive still not working. I don't know if it helps, but go into options in each program and on Save, turn off Save on OneDrive by default and show save locations even if sign in required.
5) I may or may not have asked for CrossOver HTML engine (IE8) to install extra.
OneNote kind of works, but is near useless without OneDrive working. OneDrive itself won't run as admin. Publisher looks like it sort of works, but does crash sometimes. I haven't used many of the programs at length yet -- before the update PowerPoint was notorious for crashing, but seems stable now.
