Office 365 install stops at 95% install then fails.

Hello all,

Another Linux newbie here running Ubuntu 2.04.3 LTS and Crossover 21.1.0. I have been trying to install various versions and only Office 2010 installs but only works in IMAP but I need exchange active-sync. I have tried downloading from the MS site both the Online and offline installers and both get to about 95% complete and then fails with this message
"Something went wrong

Sorry, we ran into a problem.

GO online for additional help.

Error Code: 30015-11 (3228396022) "

When I exit that I get "Error code: 0-2031 (17002)" Googling the messages only gives me Windows type fixes none of which are any good here.

I have a few days left on my 14 day trial on this Ubuntu install but No point paying $50 for a year if I can't get it to install and run. If I could get Office 365 with exchange support running I'd switch to Linux as my daily driver.
Any suggestions would be helpful as all the info I see says it should work
Thanx in advance.

I don't have a solution for you, but I do know that O365 works as I had it running on 21.0 on Mint.
Currently I'm trying to get it running on a new opesSuse Leap 15.3 install with 21.1.0. I'm getting a slightly different error than you.
Previously I got it running by downloading the offline installer, then converting the .img to an iso and using that for the install.

Hey, try running ./cxfix fromthe directory where crossover is.
On my opensuse system it was in /opt/cxoffice/bin
That'll try and find missing dependencies and stuff. It also might give you a clue as to what's wrong if it can't fix it.

I installed 97%, and then reported the same mistake.

I would like to ask, can anyone send out the installation bottle out of archive? I want to try to activate and use it.

Same for me,

With version 21.2.0 it works like a charm but when I updated to 22.0.0 the installation first pauses at 58% for like almost 5 minutes before it goes up to 94% and gets stuck there and finally displays:
Error Code: 30102-11 (1603)
When I exit that I also get Error code: 0-2031 (17002)

I've noticed that the Wine version got bumped from Wine-6.0 in CX 21.2.0 to (-->) Wine-7.7 in the CX 22.0.0. Maby this has something to to with it?
I've seen the same behavior when I've tried the main builds of Wine with the same versions (6.0 and 7.7). It feels like there is something between those versions that broke the compatibility with Office 365 installer.

If I downgrade to 21.2.0 and the Wine version is no higher than 6.0 then it works flawlessly.
I'm just guessing that there are some dependencies that are missing with the higher versions of Wine. Maby some missing dlls or overrides in WineCfg but that's just a guess.

Hi there,

Please submit a ticket for regressions. Forums aren't official support, so our support team isn't actively monitoring them. Tickets also allow for an easier way to troubleshoot and notify you if a fix is found.

Hi Meredith,

Ok, I will submit a support ticket. Thanks for the tip. I was just curious and wanted to share my findings in how the installer behaved for me with the different versions.

Over a year has elapsed since I first posted this so I thought I would have another go at it using Linux Mint 20.3 and Crossover 22.1.0 . After several attempts with different options I finally got it to install and works but slowly. I installed it into the default Win 7 32 default bottle and ran the Office 365 setup. It installed version 2002 build 12527.22286 32 bit which I suspect is a little bit older that what's currently being offer to Windows 10 users. Will be interesting to see if it continues to work in the long term (Crossover trial period) if it does i"ll buy a license.

Well that was short lived. 1st reboot and it all turned to crap. Outlook opens and give a black screen where the message list should be . Word opens up and seems to work until you try to go to the account section and then it crashes . Same on Outlook when you go to look at the account section, Back to the drawing board again.

Interesting that after subsequent reboots Outlook seems to work fine and looks like it is activated as it says that Microsoft 365 belongs to me. Can't seem to do any updates as it says i'm up to date.
