Is Office 365 working well under crossover 18 in Ubuntu Linux Bionic?

I'm considering purchasing an additional license of Crossover Linux 18 for my mothers computer - she's been a long time user of Windows (which I dumped many, many years ago - pre XP) I personally use Ubuntu Linux as my primary distrobution, but also use Raspian Linux on my Pi's. Unfortunately, because of the discomfort she has learning LibreOffice, or any other Office compatible suite available on Linux, I'm stuck supporting Windows for the rest of my life (ICK - Death to Microsoft and it's stupidity! ).

The question is, a) is there a way to see how it's all going to function - both on a trial Crossover 18 front, and with regard to getting a temporary install of Office 365 happening, and b) is supporting office 365 under Crossover / Wine going to be more trouble than just supporting a Windows Installation....

Hello Ryan,

We always encourage users to give CrossOver a try with the Windows applications they'd like to support before purchasing. You can download a trial version of CrossOver 18.5 for Linux here: https://www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover-linux/download

I believe Microsoft offers a similar 30-day free trial of Office 365 Home, available from their website.

For the best Office 365 performance, install using the Office 365 or Office 2016 crosstie on CrossOver 18.5 (this latest release resolves several bugs with the most recent release of Office 365 Home).

Good luck!

Hana

Hello Ryan,

Office 365 1808 (I think it is the latest version for Windows 7) runs great. In this order (for me): Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook. I use it every day. One thing is that OneDrive and synchronization don't work, they behave just as standalone applications.

I have found that if I increase the DPI to 120% it looks better.

Regards
