office 365 won't install on my Ubuntu system. I'm running Ubuntu version 23.04. The setup.exe file loads and crossover installs the libraries and the different fort packs and such. then it just ends and shows a bottle empty . it doesn't seek/source for the office 365 application after that to start the installation. I've been doing some research online and see that the process was fairly straightforward for most others. how do I get the O365 to install?

I have the same problem. It seems to install the prerequisites, and then it doesn't actually start the office 365 installer. I wonder if the issue may be that Office 365 requires Windows 10 minimum now, and perhaps the Windows 7 bottle type is not supported with the latest OfficeSetup.exe?

Office setup is exiting with an exit code. I can't capture it to get to know which one it is.

Also doesn't work here with pretty old "OfficeSetup.exe".

Microsoft updated their installers recently :/ We have a fix for CrossOver 24, due out later this year.

Please note that even after the fix, only the 32-bit online installer is supported.

CrossOver 24 is in beta right now, so it'll be getting released soon. If you want the fix now, you can submit a support ticket and ask for access to the beta (and that Meredith sent you). You'll be eligible for 24 when it releases, so we can get this to you a little sooner.

Hello! I recently ran into this issue as well, while trying CrossOver in free trial. Is there a way to resolve this, or will I have to sign up for the Beta Program after paying?
I was hoping to use Crossover for a class, but have been having issues due to the installer not working :(

Please do NOT buy CrossOver just to try the beta. CrossOver 24 will be out soon, and we have no way of knowing if this fix will help your issue or if you're running into a separate issue.

Even with the latest beta (beta 3), the Microsoft Office install fails with error code 0-2031 (17006). Has anyone got this to work with the beta? Thanks.

Requested access to the beta. Bought Crossover in 2023 and had Excel and Word going pretty well. I deleted the bottle after getting some Excel DDE errors then was bummed that I could not reinstall.

I think I have a 2022 Office 365 32bit installer so trying that and will report back. It must have been what I used back in mid-2023.

My old 2022 installer for 365 is still viable. Looks like it's working --- will test and come back here later

Yep the older installer worked. I'm running again in Debian 12.5 with CXO 23.7.1. Go ahead and contact if you need a recommendation on how to best overcome this issue. I might be able to assist. Beta sounds great though and a better path there if you can get it.

Definitely not good, I bought Crossover originally to run 365 originally. Just fell off the horse with life to be honest.

I was just getting started as a "BetterTester", but I went inactive due to being hospitalized for... quite a while... COVID, plus a car wreck goofed my world... But then to be greeted with an email saying I'm perma-banned for inactivity, irreversably, when I'm finally getting a machine back working.... Way to kick a guy when he's down, Codeweavers, but hey, I'm still alive at least.

Going to try Lutris now, since... I sort of feel a bit like it's a punishment to have a life outside of computing, after what happened, so maybe they are nicer.

I can't bring myself to ask for reinstatement, or be enthusiastic about the product if we're summarily blackballing/brick-walling people - that's too common in open source lately, and we need all the help we can get, considering....

Unfortunately same experience. Just got the new Crossover 24 and unable to install 365.
Pre dependencies like MSXML installs but then office installer is done and an huge exception message pops:

And if I try a 64bit win10 bottle with 64bit installer: The install runs through (takes really long time ~30min) and afterwards I just get "Sorry this didnt worked, errorcode: 30088-45" if I start a app manually "Errorcode 0-2031 (17002)"

So, not, crossover 24 is not "easy" running o365.
