Word and Excel are bit laggy with Crossover 16.

Hi,
I have Office 2013 working and (fortunately) had no problems with activation. However I noticed that Excel, Word and Powerpoint are bit laggy. There is a ~ 0.3-0.5 second delay between clicking on a menu and it opening/closing. In Word this also happens with the space bar and reverse.

Is this unavoidable or is there some option I can change to improve the performance?

I'm o Ubuntu 16.04 with Crossover 16

Thanks

Also while typing, selecting text, issuing formatting commands.
For example

  • select block of text
  • press bullet list
  • bullet list only shows up after clicking somewhere else.

I just updated to Crossover 16.2 and did clean installation of office 2013. The lag is now lower but if you are a fast typer it still makes Word unusable for production.

I have the same problem too. I'm running Office 2013 on CrossOver 16.2, but the lag in Word is almost unbearable. It's confusing, since a lot of advocates on the page for Office 2013 have relatively high reviews and have no mention of lag of any kind. I'm wondering if this is only specific to certain versions of office (Standalone vs 365, the latter of which is no longer available), or distro-specific libraries. I'm on Manjaro Gnome 17, if it helps anything.

I'm experiencing the same severe lag. It makes Word 2013 and Excel 2013 basically unusable. Everything seems to function, but with too much lag. This is on Ubuntu 16.04.2 with CrossOver 16.2.0-1

In the meantime I'm using my old installation of Word/Excel 2010 via CrossOver, both of which work great.

I agree that the lag exists. There is also another problem with Word 2013 on Crossover 16.2.5 on Ubuntu 16.04.3. I tried to open a file with many maths formulae and equations and then it crashed. Now whenever I launch Word 2013, it brings a dialogbox titled "Program Error".
