Support for MS Office 2013

Hi, when do you plan to start supporting MS Office 2013.

I moved to RedHat Desktop, tried to use Open Office for some time - but sorry, it's still far from what Microsoft does, even if I'm trying not to use any MS products anymore.

And I can't move to MS Office 2010 as I have license for 2013 version.

So looking forward for supporting it.

What about this? When do you plan upgrading your Wine libraries?

I believe that bug fix is relevant to the actual installation routine of Office 2013. Getting this to run requires more work.

I am badly in need of this feature is there any tips and work arounds to get this installed?

Hi,

I have the same problem - my company gave me a "Office 2013 Professional Plus" licence and I need to get it to work with Arch Linux. I found several threads in this forum from february 2013 where people asking for bugfixes and I'm wondering why one and a half years later it still does not work?!

Afaik since version 1.7.10 wine does support the installation of Office 2013, so why doesn't crossover?

At the moment I'm using the evaluation version of crossover, but if Office 2013 works I'll instantly buy the licence for the next years :)

Best regards
Kevin

I would also like to +1 this thread. Most of my clients stay on Windows because of Office. Libre office just doesn't cut it yet. Will CrossOver support Office 2013 in 2015? I'm thankful for all the other apps I can run because of this application, and I am a paying customer 😊

Yep, Office 2013 is desperately needed here as well.

I'd alaso apprecaite Office 2013 support
Thanks

I support this as well. Would like to see MS Office 2013 supported by Crossover.
Look forward to seeing it soon 😊

Also guys - you should vote for the application in the details tab.

And, you should write in if you have not already. We are internally tracking how much noise we receive about Office 2013 via our Support Team.

When you write in, use our simple form here:

 https://www.codeweavers.com/about/general/contact_us_form/#info

Which will give us all the system information we would like to have and in your message, please ask to be added to bug number 9779.

For work reasons, Office 2013 would be very important for me as well. It's actually the only thing keeping my dual boot on my work laptop...

So, I just create a general question support question?

Yes, that's it. Then your voice would officially be logged in our system and as we get closer to having it stable, we would write all of the people we have taken information on and ask them to evaluate what we've got. This becomes useful for us because any feedback on how various features work (good or bad) is helpful for us to determine if it's ready... And then, anyone who has written to us would be given notification when we believe we can add support for Office 2013.

please inform me as well. thanks

I really cannot justify buying another year of support until this works. I've purchased twice because I wanted to help support the project, but until Office 2013/365 and Lync works I'm not going to buy again because I've never used the subscriptions I did purchase. I need it to work with these applications or there is no point for me personally.

I would be willing to buy both Mac and Linux subscriptions if office 2013 worked. I cannot justify doing so until it works though.

Same thing for me. I have opened a question following your instructions. Hope we'll see it supported soon.

i've just managed to install office 2013.
though there was an error reported during installation,
it did manage to finish (it was stated its rolling back)
I just tried to write and save a document in excel, work, access
Lync still is not openning :(

So please, fix lync. its badly needed

I was able to install Microsoft Visio 2013 x86 in the latest version of CrossOver 15.0 after a few attempts, but the application crashes immediately on startup after briefly displaying the GUI. Are there any additional applications I need to install that Microsoft Office 2013 is dependent on? So far, I've tried Microsoft .NET Framework (all the way up to 4.5.1), Microsoft Visual C++, Microsoft Visual Studio and Core Fonts.

Since I'm working with Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac on a daily basis, I've been able to take advantage of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint in OS X. Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011 also works for me in El Capitan. But I'd like to be able to use CrossOver to enable Visio and Project 2013 (or 2016) without the need for a separate Windows 7 Virtual Machine. If we could get these Office programs to work I could say goodbye to Windows forever. But Visio is essential to my work and the 2010 application doesn't support the newer .vsdx format, so I would prefer to at least get the 2013 version working in CrossOver.

I've also tried installing Microsoft Office 2016 but the installer crashes immediately.

Cheers

I'd like to get crossover office but the main thing I'd like to run is MS Office 2013, so until there is some support for that there is no point in getting this :(

Agreed. Very disappointed.

So, I tried the new 15.0.1 version (Ubuntu 15.10) with Office 2013. It installs fine, the apps start up normally.

Unfortunately the functionality is heavily limited:

Word: (3 Stars)

  • seems to do ok with new documents
  • opening and editing documents also works ok
  • it's terribly slow.
  • some UI elements are not quite at the right place (especially in the save/open dialog)
  • fonts rendering is somewhat jenky in places
  • PDF export does not work

Powerpoint: (2 Stars)

  • does not let me click on stuff in the main section, can only draw selection-rectangle
  • Crashes when clicking "File"

OneNote: (1 Star)

  • Refuses to start, wants me to install something called Desktop Experience feature

Access & Excel: (4 Stars)

  • Everything seems to run fine in acceptable speed
  • Sometimes crashes on me saving stuff
  • some UI elements are not quite at the right place (especially in the save/open dialog)

Publisher & Outlook (2-? Stars)

  • Starts and stays up
  • not much tested, tbh

Lync (1 Star)

  • would not come up

All in all: Some stuff works, unfortunately, the one thing I would need the most (Powerpoint) does not... I think it's a step in the right direction, but still a long way to go.

//edit: Added the information that I was using the Linux version of Crossover under Ubuntu 15.10

Hi Johannes

Thanks for your detailed summary. I've not been able to run any Office 2013 applications in CrossOver in OS X El Capitan. Are your comments referring to the Linux version?

Hi Geoffrey,

yes, indeed I am using Crossover under Ubuntu 15.10. I updated my post accordingly. Thanks for the hint.

Any hints on getting Word2013 to install? on Opensuse 13.1

I cannot get it working fully with 16.1. It will not activate with my office 365 account.
When instead try and use a product key, i cannot cut & paste it in. very strange.

Outlook crashes for me pretty quickly. Where should I file a bug report?
