Microsoft Office 2010 Forum

Today i updated from 18.1.0 to 18.5.0. After that, Office 2010 is doing some configuration and wants a new serial key. With the old key activation fails. Same on MSProject 2016. Downgraded to 18.1.0 again and installed the backup archives. Everything is working.

Please take a look on this issue. Reconfiguring of activated MS products deletes existing activations. I would like to upgrade without buying new licenses or serial keys.

Same problem here.

I solved the problem this way:
1.) backup bottle FILES in your ~/.cxoffice folder (you'll need just files directly in folder: ~/.cxoffice/Microsoft_Office_2010/)
2.) upgrade to crossover 18.5
3.) start any office 2010 application => activation fails
4.) exit the application
5.) copy files from backup (cp /tmp/backup/.cxoffice/Microsoft_Office_2010/* ~/.cxoffice/Microsoft_Office_2010/)
6.) start any office 2010 application => activation still failed
7.) exit the application
8.) killall wineserver
9.) start any office 2010 application => previous activation returns back!

Strange, but it seems to work.
Note: I had to repeat steps 5-9 several (two, three) times. Maybe you'll be also lucky...

Thx for your awnser. Unfortunately i have no time to try this out at the moment. I'm still on 18.1. Everything is working there.
I think i wait for the next release, hoping this issue is solved there.
