How to reproduce:

  1. Install MS Office.
  2. Open any Word, Excel document
  3. Click on right mouse button, or context key on keyboard.
Expected Result: displays a menu with various operations, e.g. copy, paste
Current Result: menu very quickly disappears
    System Info:
    crossover 16.2.0
    Distr ArchLinux x86_64

Exactly the same behavior on Xubuntu 16.04 with Crossover 16.2.0.

Same behavior here. CrossOver 16.2.5 on Xubuntu 16.04.

It has to do with the pasting and the preview that Office creates of this paste. The problem disappears when enabling the virtual desktop from winecfg. So I suspect it could be a window manager related problem.

I'm pretty sure this is the same problem in Wine

You can disable the "Live Preview Feature" in the Microsoft Office option menu to fix this.
How To Disable the Microsoft Office Live Preview Feature

This is still here, and make using copy and paste horrible. The suggestion of removing live previews gives you a little more time, but the menus still are disappearing.
It seems that the mainstream bug has a workaround...

Strangely enough, context menus are displayed as expected when using Xfce as window manager, but not under MATE.
Maybe someone understands what's happening. So I'll revert to Xfce.
Cheers

We made some changes that we're hoping will fix this in CrossOver 17.

I can confirm from some quick testing that the problem is gone with CrossOver 17. Haven't tested all cases yet. But even with live preview enabled on Xubuntu 16.04 the context menu remains visible.

Thanks, this was my number 1 annoyance with CrossOver!
