150+ page document. Defining Heading styles, set TOC for 3 levels, but it's pulling in the fourth level (bulleted paragraphs). When trying to set style to Normal, the bullet goes away. As soon as I add the bullet, Word redefines style as List Paragraph and includes the bullet and all the paragraph text in the TOC. Frustrating.

It's a collaborative document, so didn't see that collaborator had made bulleted paragraphs Headings. Lesson: Read the text brought into TOC and search for it.
