PowerPoint - failure of presentation mode

Greetings.

I've installed MS Office 2010 in free trial CrossOver. When I open a ppt-presentation, PowerPoint fails to enter presentation mode. It tells me that video adapter is not optimized for presentation mode and after that I see black screen with the mouse cursor (mouse cursor show waiting). After a while, I killed PowerPoint process.

In addition, PowerPoint 2010 fails to play videos in presentations. These videos were playing OK in Office 2007 and Wine 1.3.x.

Does anyone know how to deal with it?

I have the same problem.

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)

X.Org X Server 1.11.2

[ 14.777] (II) Module intel: vendor="X.Org Foundation"

Crossover XI, Office 2010.

Same problem here. Ubuntu 12.04 Beta on a Intel Sandybridge internal graphics chip.

Any tips would be highly welcome. PPT without presentation is kind of pointless, I guess 😊.

Have you run cxdiag to make sure you're not missing any libraries? Also, I can't use any Office programs on my Intel graphics card, because openGL isn't working right. I have to use my ATI card. cxdiag will error out if you're having the same problems. If that's the case, you'll want to update your host graphics setup - Ubuntu does support OpenGL on Intel graphics chipsets, but it's sometimes tricky to get running right.

Followup - I tested this on my ATI card and had the same issue. I've created a support ticket, and will followup with details when available. My old bottle with 2007 is archived, so I can repro the old and new easily for the support team. Still, the suggestions on making sure OpenGL works stand as first steps.

This is a known bug (#9374) we thought was going to be fixed during the Crossover 11 beta but it appears to have fallen through the cracks and is still a problem. We're working on getting this fixed and hope to have it working in the next update of Crossover.

I'd like to be notified if you manage to fix this.

Thanks

John

On Nvidia and Intel, I still get the warning but presentation mode works ok.
