Microsoft Office 2010 Forum

I'm not sure if anyone else is having problems with it, but when I go to install it, it goes through the paces, but then gets to the very end and gives the following error:

The 'Installing Microsoft Office 2010' task failed.

The installer has exited but Microsoft Office 2010 does not seem to be installed
Continuing with the install may produce unpredictable results.

Try Again/Skip This Step/Cancel Installation

If I choose Try Again, same dialogue box appears.
If I choose Skip This Step, it finishes out and says "The installation completed, but some tasks were skipped."

Well, it seems like this may have something to do with trying to install Office 2010 64bit.

It installed 32bit fine, but it crashes every time I try to put in my Exchange credentials. Any ideas?

What OS type (Mac/Linux) and version (11.10, 10.7) are you using? You may need to install the 32-bit SSL libraries if you're using a 64-bit Linux distro.

hmmm... got the same error here and had all necessary 32bit libs installed, failed when trying to do a custom installation in an existing bottle were Visio was successfully installed.

The error was (I believe this is the relevant output of my log):
err:module:import_dll Library sqdedev.DLL (which is needed by L"C:\\users\\crossover\\Temp\\msibe55.tmp") not found

Then tried with a new bottle and default install, went flawlessly and works like a charm, beautiful!
So I'm happy with it now, but strange still.

I remember I ended up with keeping Visio and the rest of the office in separate bottles because they do not coexist well.

I got the exact same problem with Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 (English). I am running using ubuntu 12.04 32 bits
