I installed amazing crossover product on Ubuntu. Wow !
For some application I tried to install the necessary .Net 3.0 application on XP bottle. That however fails using the MS installer with an exception on inability to copy a file $shtdwn$.req.
Next I tried the unpacked Setup.exe that started installing, but failed underway.
Which all seem awkward as .Net 3.0 is a Silver app on the C3 website.
Any ideas on this?

I'm getting the same error. I know I've installed this before on openSuse, but it won't work for me right now on Ubuntu...very curious.
Ok, so I WAS able to get 3.5 Compact to install. That should be backwards compatible for anything you need 3.0 to work for.
Guys, if you tell about a problem it's really important to let us know which version of Crossover you are using. 😉

The .NET Compact framework is a completely different thing and cannot replace whatever version of .NET framework. As you may know .NET Compact supports developers in creating apps for mobile devices.
