.NET installation error with 5.0.1

I've attemped a direct install of dotnetfx.exe (V1.1) under 5.0.1. Everything proceeds smoothly until the very end of the "Installing Components" phase, during the installation of the ".NET Framework Files". The installation crashes on the "Registering System.EnterpriseServices.dll" step with:

CLR Error: 80004005

Clicking "OK" in the error dialog box allows the installation to proceed, but another "CLR Error: 80004005" is thrown during "Removing backup files:" on "File: C:\...\migpolwin.exe -migrate 1.14322 1.0.3705".

Clicking "OK" after the second error dialog allows the installation to "complete" and CrossOver simulates a reboot.

However, after reboot there is no indication that the .NET Framework works properly.
