I tested Crossover Office Pro 4.2rc1 on SuSE 9.1.
It is getting very close to running now. The installation went fine as it had in the last few versions. When started from the menu icon, the splash screen appears, then the program crashes (app closes). On the second start attempt, I received a dialog box with the following message:
Money has detected that you did not close the file Sample before exiting.
Money now needs to verify the information in your file. This may take a few minutes if your file is large. Do you want to do this now?
I clicked Yes and the application opened with the sample file data. I was able to go thru menu selections, click icons, run reports, enter transactions, etc. There were some display issues, like some dialog boxes were cropped, the text in some buttons had a "%0" added. For example, an OK button read "OK%0". But the application was working and I thought I was home free.
Unfortunately, when I closed it and launched it again, I got a message that "Money is already running" and it would not open again. I did a simulated Windows reboot but that did not help. I manually killed all the crossover processes and launched again. I received the "Money has detected that you did not close the file Sample before exiting." message again, but no matter what I selected, it would not start again.
If I can get it launch consistently, it will be ready for promotion to Honorable Mention or Bronze level. I will do additional testing and add more to this thread soon.
