Money 2004 almost works on Monterey/M1 Macbook Pro - ofx import fails

Installed and works almost fine on a Win XP, 7 or 10 bottle.
I didn't need the recommended Crossover HTML Engine or the change to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE settings.

But I really need to be able to import OFX files and that always fails with the message
The file you attempted to import appears to be invalid or contains corrupt data

The ofx file is not invalid because it works on my intel iMac with Money in a VMware virtual machine.
I've tried adding the Crossover HTML Engine and also the Microsoft XML Parser (because the ofx file looks a bit like XML).

Any ideas what to try?
