ActiveSync 4.2 on Beta 6

I have tried installing ActiveSync.4.2 on CX Beta 6
My machine is a 2 x Dual-Core AMD64 running Kubuntu with 2.6.18 kernel.

The installer launches and ritght before the end, complains that the installation was interrupted and system was not modified.

CX does seems to think that the installation completed succesfully and creates the links.

What could be interfering with the installation?
