Access crashes upon creation of a new database

Hey guys,

I hope someone can help me with this most annoying issue - I can't seem to be able to create a new database. I'm running the beta of Crossover Pro, which I installed after the normal version got this error, and every time I open access and try to make a blank database, it crashes and shows this error:

Any solutions?

Thanks.

Jeremy Reid

Hi Jeremy, I have recently downloaded a trial version of Crossover and installed Office 2003. Excell and Word are working well, but am getting the same message as you when I try to open an Access database, or try to create a new one. Did you eventually succeed?

Exactly my experience. It is not even possible to create a simple database without a crash. Does anyone have an answer?

-----------Update----------

I solved the problem by installing these four programs, using Crossover's install button within the bottle:

  • MDAC 2.8 SP1
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
  • Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8
  • visual basic 6 runtime
