C4P Problems

I am trying to install Medieval II Total War via the C4P install but am encountering issues. Everything seems fine until around halfway through C4P loading where it just freezes up and neither the load or don't load buttons work. if i try to cancel it won't let me select a bottle to install into. I was just wondering if "paulthetall" could lend some assistance like a guide maybe. I would be eternally grateful :)

What version u use? I use the dvd version. And can be more specific where it gos wrong. Can you all the steps? Dubbleclick c4p file --> load --> start install --> preinstallation directx9modern -->......etc...
Thanks. Ow if you have screenshots might be usefull too :)

I also have the dvd version. What seems to happen is that 1.i insert the disk 2.open the C4P file and select load when prompted

however after here although Medieval 2: Total War appears in the "Select an application to install" row and it states it will "install from MEDIEVAL II" the load confirmation window freezes up and i can't do anything but cancel the process.

sorry i'm quite new to this forum how can i upload a screenshot from the desktop?

thanks again

Ok first of all, Medieval II contains 2 dvds dvd 1 and DVD 2. You need to put DVD 1 first in the drive and then run the c4p file, or otherwise it will fail. I am making a game status, it will contain screenshots and some instructions. However, the dvd 1 should be in the drive first before you run the c4pfile.

You can use dropbox or screencast or other online upload site for these things.

Here are some screenshots following your instructions. I inserted disc 1 and then opened the C4P file. The first shot is before pressing Load

this second image is after which is when it glitches out and won't let me proceed

i'm not using crossover games, would that be an issue?

yup absolutly, the c4p file is set for crossover games. so thats why it wont load.

Ahhh ok thanks very much for all your help anyway i'll just have to see about getting crossover games :D

to use the c4p file yes, to run the game.....maybe not although CxG is set for games, it might work if you install the game manually. Suit yourself whats more easy.

Go to bottle --> application tab --> install --> select setup.exe on Disc1 --> run through the installtion. Then read the rest at the gamestatus post.
