Mouse points to wrong location

Installed Medieval 2 with no problems, but the cursor doesn't match the location of the action. For example, in order to point to Quit, I have to move the cursor well below the Quit menu option. First time posting here, so I hope the screenshot loads correctly. If not, I'll try again.

OK, that didn't work. Guess you have to load to a web page and point to a URL? Anyway, I'm running UBUNTU 8 and have World of Warcraft: Lich King installed and working.

I've tried changing the screen resolution and that does effect the location of the cursor vs. the action point, but they only get further away. Currently, my resolution is 1280 x 1024 and 60hz.

Let me know if you want more info.

Thanks,
Dave

Does the game have a windowed mode? Have you tried using the emulated virtual desktop (CrossOver Setup > Manage Bottles > Control Panel > winecfg > Graphics)? Do either of those help with the mouse cursor?

I bought the game on d2d. I followed all the steps for installation and had the same grass/texture problem with the game. I put the game into windowed mode, but now when i attempt to open the game in windowed mode I get a message that says medieval 2: total war encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. If anyone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
