Game loads but screen is in segments

Hi guys,

I'm not that sharp on the computers so I've more than likely missed something here. I followed the steps with crossover (got the free trial version as I didn't want to commit to buying it if it didn't work) , downloaded steam because I had bought the game on steam previously. Installed the game through steam. The game wasn't loading and I noticed on here someone advised to download that .NET thing instead of changing the .exe (which I couldn't find on my computer, I went user, my user, but then there is no library folder but there is a library folder in my finder, which has an application support but no crossover folder) , so anyway I downloaded the .NET thing. The Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 to be precise. Pressed play on steam and the game would load but the screen is in segments, alternating on being upside down but sometimes it just goes crazy messed up. The initial movie clip had the top half of the screen upside down and the bottom half of the screen normal. Then the main menu is similar, lots of segments most upside down.
I've tried reinstalling the game, reinstalling steam a few times, the same with .NET. Even tried the older versions of .NET.

This is trying to load just Medieval Total War 2, haven't even tried kingdoms yet! I've got a macbook pro with OS X Mountain Lion

Pretty sure I'm missing something, hope I've explained it well enough. Any idea how to fix it?

The following setup will give you a working copy:

  1. Create a Steam bottle using the install software option. Steam will be listed.
  2. Once created, it will update and you can login to your account.
  3. Close the program and open "Manage Bottles". Select your steam bottle and click the advance tab, then check enable experimental Mac Driver.
  4. Next select the applications tab and click install software. You want to install Net 2.0. You don't need anything higher than this to run the game.
  5. Reopen Steam and install the game. It will now run without issue.

Just FYI

I have loaded several games into the same steam bottle and all are working well. I just open the steam app in the bottle and select what I want to play.

These are in the bottle:
Sins of a solar empire rebellion
Dawn of War Soulstorm
Star Wars Battlefront II
Medieval II Gold
Supreme Commander Forged Alliance
Wings of Fury

I am also having problems with the M2TW screen image in jumbled segments.

I completed JPRJJL's steps 1-3.
On step 4 I wasn't sure which application should be highlighted when I clicked install. I di dnot see a Net 2.0.

I have not been able to get a proper of the game on the screen.
