Will wine/crossover still work to run MWO now that PGI has dropped 32bit support?
By using the same instructions outlined in the forum it does work but it crashes numerous times like going to the hangar might need 10 - 20 attempts, if everything goes well you can play a game and then when returning to the hangar it crashes the game again and you need to start over again 10 - 20 times. It seems to be something related to the graphics but I cannot see the error.
Tested this with Crossover 17.5.0 and windows seven 64 bit bottle and wine override to windows XP on High Sierra on both iMac and Macbook Pro
I think the problem is with the Wine version crossover is using. I was just successful using this setup:
Wineskin (mac)
Wrapper 2.6.2
Custom engine WS9Wine3.0 (32bit+64bit)
Winetricks install:
corefonts
d3dx9
d3dx9_43
msxml3
tahoma
vcrun2010
memory>video memory of your graphic card
Then download and install from Microsoft website:
vcrun2010 64bit
dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64
And lastly Wineconfig > windows XP
So far it seems to be stable enough
Em, no, I still have the same problem or random crashes when loading the hangar
