no italic Greek?

Just installed MT 5.2 on CX 4.0; seems to work fine. But "lower case Greek italics" don't seem to work, even though that's the default (two boxes checked in basic style menu). Explicitly, a Greek theta in an equation is italic by default under Windows, but not on my Linux box. The same document has italic Greek under Windows and plain Greek under Linux. Doesn't seem to matter which machine the document was created on, although I haven't tested this thoroughly. Not a big deal, but any idea what's going on? In all cases, I'm using the default "Symbol + MT Extra" settings, not the Euclid fonts; I have no trouble getting italic Greek with the Euclid Italic Symbol font.
