Mass Effect Forum

Trying to install the game. I get to datasetup.exe and I get an error and it closes the installation and no icons are made and I cannot run the game after this point. Any thoughts? How are you guys getting past this? Opensuse 11.2 KDE. 32 bit

Yeah same here I forgot about that. Had to make my own script to launch.

Here's mine for an example.

Mass Effect.sh

#!/bin/sh
exec "/opt/cxgames/bin/wine" --bottle "masseffect" --check --wait-children --start "C:/Program Files/Mass Effect/MassEffectLauncher.exe"

For my part, I was lucky enough to get the Steam version, which installed with no problems.

If you run c/Program Files/Mass Effect/MassEffectLauncher.exe

Hit configure, click on repair and then Create start menu shortcuts.

This gives you all the shortcuts. A whole heap of weblinks you don't need.
Now you can go ahead remove them all in bottle settings. lol.
