I just finished playing ME1, and, naturally, move on to ME2. I install ME2 into the same bottle as ME1, finish downloading and install all the DLC, and run it. The first problem I have, which is likely unrelated, is that when I'm not in "expo mode" (Gnome 3) the game video (be it prerecorded or a menu) is frozen and looks jittery, but runs fine when in expo mode. I first tried to disable the steam overlay, but that didn't help. I then went into expo mode before the game loaded, then clicked on it. This servers as a work around for this problem, though if anyone knows of a better solution, please, do share, this work around is somewhat annoying.
The second issue is game breaking. I only have sound in the opening logo videos. I've tried, first, too check WineHQ for a solution and something there suggested changing the audio device in wineconfig from specific to default. This did not work. I then tried meddling with the options in the configuration program. This too failed. The next logical step is to put ME2 into its own bottle. Using the default audio setting, as suggested at WineHQ, I got the same result as before, and with the proper device selected the result is unchanged.
As a last desperate act, I tried to install lib32-alsa-plugins. I say this is a desperate act since it breaks audio in several other application. Unsurprisingly, it did not fix this issue of mine.
Oh, I'm using 64bit Arch Linux.
