I've the Steam version. There are a few gotchas:

• if you have any DLCs, DO NOT install them before running the game at least once and authenticating to your EA account. Else you will get an error message that the CD check failed (funny huh?)
• you should be running the game through the launcher otherwise sound may shut off after the intro movie (bioware logo)
• once the game starts, you may need to alt+tab to its actual window

With the above in mind, performance on my machine is just brilliant. No mouse-look issues. The game only crashed on me once during my many hours of playing. Rated silver on Ubuntu 12.10 64bit.

I just bought a copy off Steam and installed it. Graphics are incredible. The odd pixelation that occurred with ME1 does not appear to be there. But i have no dialogue sounds. at all. occasionally, i get some sound effects. but no dialogue. Then, the screen went black and stayed there. i'm going to run it again and see what happens but i'm wondering if i just wasted money on the ME2 purchase..

Maybe you could tell us more about your system

oh yah, sure. sorry. i have an iMac running OS 10.6.8 and crossover 12.5
i'm not sure what else to tell you. perhaps 3.06GHz intel core duo, 4 GB mem

Unfortunately I can't help you because I'm running Linux but maybe someone playing this on a Mac could.

It's weird that you get intermittent sound from what you describe. On Linux, I either had sound from the start or not at all. Maybe creating a ticket could help. Don't forget to tell the staff the details about your system and also the Crossover version.
