Runs with blank menus

I have installed Mapsource (under CrossOver Mac 6.0b1) in a new bottle and the application runs but the menus are all blank. The menus do show up, they just have no text so you can't tell what you are selecting if you click on an item.

I re-installed Mapsource in a new bottle with Internet Explorer 6, all fonts copied from a Windows machine and Microsoft System Installer installed as recommended by the 'Running Unsupported Applications in CrossOver' section (see http://www.codeweavers.com/support/docs/unsupported/) with the same results - blank menus.

I'll keep trying but if anyone has any suggestions of something to try let me know.

Hi David,
I had no problems when I ran it. You can see the screen shot I uploaded in the screenshots section.

My machine is an iMac intel running OS X 10.4.7
Crossover version 6.0b1
Mapsource 4.0

I got the GPS from my father and it's quite old. I have the Mapsource update disks up to version 6.01 but haven't had any success applying them. The clean 4.0 runs just fine with no additional software and no non-default configuration of the bottle.

I've downloaded a later version of Mapsource from the Garmin site but I don't know if it's an update or a full version.

I wonder how you could install it.. its 3 cds and CrossOver-Linux "locks" the cds for ejection!!
I think that crossover should allow the cd/dvd to be ejected (YEAP ITS A BUG)

MAPSOURCE from Garmin are always UPDATES!
Garmin sells the complete Series as CDROM media only.
In general, any s/ware made by Garmin (incl firmware) is buggy..

Garmin have indicated that they are working on Mac versions of their products so this might not be such a headache if that works out.
see http://www.garmin.com/pressroom/corporate/011006.html for details.

Andrew,

You've had better luck than me. I installed the Mapsource that came with a GPSMAP 276c which is Mapsource 6, so it might be a problem with newer versions. I've tried reinstalling Mapsource a few times with the same results.

Chris,

The 'Trip and Waypoint Manager' software (ie. Mapsource) that comes with the Garmin 276c that I have comes on 1 CD.

I have tried to update my 'blank-menu' install with the latest Mapsource version 6.11.5 from the web. Now the application crashes with an 'AFX_COMBOBOX.HPP-122-6.11.5.0' error.

I'll try again when the next beta comes out.
