Any update on getting nprotect to work? I'd like to play Mabolngi (another game by Nexon that uses the same system as Maple Story) and would like to play MS as well.
A shame that as usual, XR cant run it :(

Really the game would run fine. The problem is Game Guard/Copy Protection. There are other free online games without the Copy Protection issues, just takes some searching.
It's not really copy protection at all; it's "hacking prevention" to keep people from gaining an unfair advantage.
Not to mention, there are quite a few of these games which use GameGuard, e.g. Albatross 18 (a.k.a. Pangya). Furthermore, there are other packages like it, e.g. X-Trap which La Tale uses. Once those work, the games will follow.

You can call it what you will... root kit, copy protection, hacking prevention and many others. The bottom line is that Maple Story and many other games do not work because it is included with them. We are well aware that there are many different sub-applications like GameGuard that prevent games from with CrossOver.
I have previously suggested that people wishing for work to be done on these games make an outcry for support of GameGuard. You can read more about this suggestion here:

Personally I wish that every game just ran with CrossOver. There are several of us that would enjoy playing games such as Maple Story. Unfortunately it is just not possible at this time.
