What works
- Game installs and launches properly
- Controls respond properly
- Gameplay functions are working
- In game resolution and windowed/fullscreen settings work almost completely.
What doesn't work
-
Graphics missing all over the place. Notably, menu backgrounds, and the frame for the gameplay field. Square highlighting is absent. However, when a "color killer" piece is in play, the resulting aura effect is still present when chaining pieces together. Other missing graphics include the player's sprite, the clear sparkles that come off the eraser bar when it highlights square clusters, most of the title screen, including the title itself and the language selection flags, and the Q? Entertainment logo upon first launching the game.
-
Sound is completely absent. This includes in game music and menu sound effects.
-
Graphics do not resize properly when setting resolution to 640 x 480. 960 x 540 and fullscreen work just fine.
Final Verdict
In spite of it's current bugs, the game is actually fully playable, albeit greatly watered down by the missing elements. The worst of these bugs is the complete lack of sound, one of the defining traits of the game, and the square cluster highlighting not working properly, which makes it slightly harder to see where to place last second pieces.
