Linux version coming

IBM will release a Linux version of Notes:
http://www.internetnews.com/ent-news/article.php/3618801

It's the client only, running under eclipse.
July 24th it will be available.
For development and admin it's still 6.5.5 under xoffice

Well it's not as good as it sounds.... Read : http://www-142.ibm.com/software/sw-lotus/products/product4.nsf/wdocs/linux
and you will soon see ( select Linux client operating systems ) so if you don't use Red Hat Enterprise 4 R3 or Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 your SOL..

So CX is still very much needed when it comes to Notes support for many Linux users.

Tom

Actually with other IBM Linux products alien takes care of business and successfully translates the rpms to debian packages that I use on Linux. Other than the installation there are really no specific dependencies on RedHat or Suse so I wouldn't complain yet.
