I am in the same boat as John, not renewing until notes 7 works. 😭

Guys I think you are punishing the wrong people here. It's not Codeweavers
nor WINE's fault that Notes 7 does not work. It's IBM's, Lotus', and OURs we
keep buying/using/supporting a product that is only supported on Windows.
If you want Notes 7 supported, PAY FOR IT!!! Either buy and/or renew a
copy of CXOffice and VOTE or better yet buy it and PLEDGE some money.
How many other companies give away their MAIN product and revenue stream,
which is what Codeweavers is really doing, by giving back to WINE and paying
people everyday to work on WINE; nobody is getting rich working on WINE and
the glory aint all it's cracked up to be. Will Codeweavers go under if you pull
your support? No. Does Jeremy want you to leave? No. Will version 6.0 of
CXOffice support Notes 7? Yes, if we prove we are willing to pay/work for it.
Be a beta tester, advocate, WINE hacker, or just a person willing to help pay
for the electric bills that all the WINEHQ servers keep generating. Jeremy is
listening (I know 'cuz I pester him a lot), but he's going to work on the
projects that will keep his people employed, and those are the ones that pay.

I agree with David, I just renewed my subscription and plan to get more involved. I run 6.5.4 Notes under Crossover with a data directory that is shared with R7 (when I boot windows). without any problems. I would preferr to get things like the Design Search to work (swift file & Tivoli for domino work).
Nice soapbox, but...
Some of us don't have any choice. We bought not 1, but 5 licenses of Crossover Office Pro, and we NEED Notes 7 to work (I voted). We're moving entry-level desktop users in our company from Windows to SuSE Linux, and this could be a hold-up. We won't be buying more licenses of CX Office if we can't get Notes 7 to work, because we simply won't need more if Notes 7 doesn't work.
The reason we don't have a choice with software like Notes is that you have to maintain a license contract with IBM to get support, and upgrades go along with that. So, like it or not, you're paying for new revs of the software, and you're paying for the Notes/Domino licenses whether or not people use the Notes client. The maintenance fees are dependent on the number of users in Domino, not the number of people using the Notes Client. So, even though I use Apple Mail and Mozilla Thunderbird to get my Notes mail, we still pay a license for me as a user.
As a long-time Mac user, I'll be glad when we can move 100% to web-based Notes database/mail access and drop Notes completely (which everybody I know hates), but I don't think we're there, yet.
Now that I can run Notes 6.5.4 on my Intel Mac using the latest WINE, I'm anxiously waiting for CodeWeavers to bring CX Office to the Mac (which they promised in January, I believe). I just hope these issues are worked out with R7 by then.
BTW, I was running 6.5.4 with no problems in SuSE Linux 10, ran the Notes 7 installer today to upgrade (Win98), the upgrade ran no problem, I logged into Notes, it said "Connecting to [server] at last known address", then the window just disappears. If I open Domino Admin, I login, then it just hangs up at the same point without the window disappearing.
From what I've seen, R7 is not a major upgrade from R6.5.x. So, I don't think this will be a major problem to find and fix, just something simple that's causing a critical failure.
Notes 7.0.2 will run on the Mac directly (intel ver also) although it will be a while before the version is out. If your just running Notes for mail you can access via POP3, imapi, outlook for notes, and 2 version of web access.
Since the Hanover client will run un Linux, it's hard to see IBM spending much effort to get the Notes Client to run under wine.
I am quite happy with Notes (enduser client, designer, administrator) and CrossOver Office - as long as I use build V70_M4 ... beta 3 NP of Jan. 11, 2005. If you really think that you need V7 Gold you will need for other people to fix the remaining problems. The annoying problem with the admin client is, that it crashes as soon as you try to key in live console commands. 😅
No one is punishing anyone. It's a simple cost decision for me. My organization uses Notes 7. I have had to ask for an exception to be made so that my mail template can remain 6.5x so I can use the older 6.5.3 client with CXoffice 5.01. Given that situation, I am not about to go to my purchasing department and tell them I need money for software which I know does not work. I am causing enough irriration as it is.
Crossover has been very good to me in the past, and I think I got value for my money when we used 6.53, but it is unreasonable to expect me to shell out more cash for something in the hopes of and/or to support the possibility that Notes 7 might work at some point in the future.
