Lotus Notes 6.5.1 Forum

I am trying to install Notes 7beta4, but it doesn't run. The installer works great, but the workspace disappears as soon as it finishes loading. I've tried installing it as 6.5.1+, and as an unsupported app (and frankly don't know if there's any difference in process between the two), but no dice.

Alternatively, 7beta3 seems to work tolerably well. The Console app (jconsole.exe) doesn't work, and I get a few crashes here and there, but it's definately useable. Is there any work being done on the 7 client compatability?

Also, an odd note, html email which would always render all screwy in the client under Windows, now renders perfectly. However the strain of doing so causes the client to crash. So I have to use Webmail (I'm trying to set up IMAP on my Domino Server for use with Thunderbird.

Anyone have any other experiences 7 beta3-4? I would like to try and use v7 under crossover as I am a developer and would like to play with the latest stuff, but I hesitate to go ahead and register my demo of cxoffice until I can get a relatively stable environment.

for 7.x then we can get codeweavers to move it up on thier priority list. FYI; there is a

Thanks for the input. I also checked the Notes 7 forum. By "no success" do you mean that it just doesn't run at all, that is has some serious bugs, or that it is extremely unstable? We just need it to check email. My other alternative to connect to the Domino 7 server would be Evolution...

It means, it installs, but crashes right away on start-up. Totally usesless.
