Lotus Improv doesn't install (says "You have not yet entered your registration information. ..... start Install from the Install

I'm a big fan of Lotus Improv, the seminal spreadsheet re-invention from the 90'es. Every few years,
I check back with CodeWeavers to see if it has gotten support, but alas no luck.

Trying to install it the obvious way fails with a dialogue box with

You have not yet entered your registration information. To do so,
please start Install from the Install disk.

Any suggestions?

FWIW, I installed it in a WinXP VM where it runs fine, but that's a rather heavyweight way to run it.
