Bought the game for the £3.49 special offer price at the weekend and downloaded it to my Mac Pro using CrossOver Games 7.2. Steam says it's 100% ready but when I launch it nothing happens. Also tried the DirectX 9 launch option. Didn't really think this would work and I haven't tried anything else yet to get it running. Anyone else got anywhere with this?
The situation has improved a little since 7.2: In CrossOver Games 8.1.3, the game launches to the Capcom logo, then says Steam isn't running and that the games needs Steam to run in order to play. The number 1200 is shown in brackets too, presumably an error code. Needless to say, this is despite having launched the game in Steam and being returned to Steam when the game quits.
EDIT - Originally put wrong version of COG (8.1.4).
Situation has dramatically improved going from 8.1.3 to 8.1.4; namely you can start the game. There's no sound, and mouse turning on the horizontal axis is limited to within 180˚ (give or take). Definitely unplayable, but still a huge improvement to see it actually running.
Tried both graphics cards on my 17-inch MacBook Pro, running 10.6.2, made week 19 of '09.
has anyone tried this is CXG 9.1? Just curious if it works...
