Cannot locate CD-ROM when I attempt to launch the game?

After installation on crossover, I tried to open the game but it says "Cannot locate the CD-ROM" and "Please insert the correct DC-ROM, select OK and restart the application." What is going on? I have an original copy of the game (BFME2) and it is inside the disc holder in my Macbook Pro 2015. Is there a way to bypass this and play the game? I have tried to go on gamecopyworld and got a bfme2.exe download to try and replace game.dat but I cannot open up the files of the .exe file. Can someone just give a link with step by step instructions? I am sorry if I seem so technologically disabled.

I just realized that crossover has some kind of policy that does not allow them to fix this but again, is there a way to circumvent this problem? Someone said to use a "crack" but how would that work and how would I install it to make the game run correctly?
