Hanging Screen Issue

I'm having the same problem as John Dean with the hanging screen, but the last time I tried it, the game seemed to start up, going full screen with the side letter box. I was really excited until it failed to change from this blank white screen and I had to shut down my computer to do anything else. Has this happened to anyone? I'm getting kind of frustrated with this whole process.

Hi there,

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner.
Could you describe the hanging screen? As I don't have this at all.
Try playing it in windowed mode- obviously this isn't ideal for some, but when I play in windowed mode it works great.

Which version of Crossover (Games) and what OS are you running?

Alex

I am having a similar problem, the game's splash loads but as soon as the window pops up full screen I get nothing but a white screen (with black strips along the sides) and I can do nothing but quit crossover. It sounds like going windowed could help, but I cannot find the place to do this.

Oh, I am also running Mac Snow Leopard version 10.6.8 on an iMac, with crossover version 10.1.

To set the bottle to windowed mode,
1) go to Configure > Manage Bottles
2) select the correct bottle
3) go to Control panel > Wine Configuration and click Launch selected item
4) go to Graphics and tick Emulate a virtual desktop, choosing an appropriate resolution for your screen
5) click Apply and let the bottle reset

Now the game should run in a window and be playable!
Have fun

Well now it Isn't going white, but at what appears to be the same stage in the loading I just get various positions of the game splash stuck against a black background, where it commences to be frozen. I played around with the resolutions for a while too. Any further suggestions?

Have you got DirectX installed?
Try installing either 'DirectX 9' or 'Microsoft DirectX Runtime- Modern' into the bottle

I have had tested today en here the same problem. I am new as advocate, but there is also no bottle for it. Perhaps a more experience advocate can handle this
