When I try to add a VIP subscription to Lord of the Rings Online the in game store opens just fine. But for payment via paypal the program tries to open an external browser window. The top bar of the window appears, but no actual window.
Do I have to install a browser into the bottle? I am totally new to CrossOver, just trying it because friends have started playing LOTRO again, and it is not longer available as a native Mac client. The game runs really well on my iMac, the only thing not working is subscribing. And I think there is no other way to subscribe but in the in game store.

Hi, Marcel! I’ve never seen that specific problem. I just re-subbed myself so whatever problem you’re having is not a universal issue.
You do not need to install a browser into your LOTRO bottle. Your Mac’s default browser should work when the game attempts to invoke an external browser page.
Here are a couple of things you can try to work around your problem:
1- Log into your store account on your browser before launching the game. The store is here:
https://account.daybreakgames.com
At the very top of the page, in very tiny type, you'll see the link for STORE ACCOUNT LOG IN. On the page that appears after you log in, in very tiny type, you will see an option for PAYMENT SOURCES. Click on that to be sure your preferred payment method is ready to use.
2- Launch the game client, log into a server, log into the world with a character. Go to OPTIONS->GRAPHICS->DISPLAY->SCREEN MODE and choose WINDOWED in the drop-down menu.
3- Then go to OPTIONS->UI SETTINGS->WEBSTORE and check the box for EXTERNAL STORE. Then click the ACCEPT button at the bottom-right of the OPTIONS window. When you invoke the in-game store, it should open in a Safari window (or a window of whatever browser you have set as your system default). Opening any additional pages or tabs should proceed without any problem if launched from your system browser rather than the in-game store browser.
4- When you're done paying for your VIP subscription, you can un-check the box for EXTERNAL STORE and go back to FULL SCREEN WINDOWED or FULL SCREEN mode.
Try that and report back with your results. There might be some other things to try and I'll do my best to help you if you need additional assistance.
