LOTRO with CrossOver 12.5 (post update 11.x)

The "good news" -- PyLotRO is no longer needed!

With CrossOver 12.5 (and I believe 12.4.x) you can simply launch the Turbine Launcher directly.
The Turbine Launcher will take care of all patching, and downloading of the "transition" screens.

The TurbineLauncher is "buried" -- where every you have your bottles -- typically ~/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles...
<bottle-name>/drive_c/Program Files/Turbine/The Lord of the Rings Online/TurbineLauncher.exe

Simply double click on it... that should launch CrossOver for you. Once you have "The Ring" in your Dock... right click select "Options/keep in dock"... and you can launch from there in the future.

Note, as always with the FInder to get to ~/Library -- use the "Go" menu to get there. Press Option while clicking on the "Go" menu to display the Library entry.

Is it possible this is more relevant to Crossover on Mac? I still had a great deal of trouble with LotRO on Linux until I used PyLotRO.

This has become a problem with most of the forums here. People don't often say if they're on Linux or Mac so you have no idea what platform they're running on, let alone what version of the OS or Crossover.

I tried LOTRO again a month or so ago and couldn't even get the installer to run without crashing after 30 mintues or so. I'm running the latest Crossover (12.5.0) but I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 which sorely outdated (and no longer supported). So, I'm waiting to upgrade my OS before giving it another shot. Please report back here if you happen to get it working with or without PyLotRO and what distro you're on.

Good news! u can download your lotro for mac from steam (also mac)! ok ok kinda old forum :P
