Update 5 patch on Monday 12/12 appears to have broken LOTRO on CXG...

After playing until about 3am EDT Sunday evening, I patched LOTRO roughly 12 hours later....monday afternoon.

It appears that the Update 5 patch (in addition to having an incredible number of "known issues" according to Turbine), does not run under CXG.... Update 5 had run fine under CXG in during the Beta prior to Thanksgiving.

PyLotRO, apparently after launching the LOTRO client displays a black screen. (Patching completes, and then the login information is accepted.)

No further details at this time...

I patched mine earlier today and just loaded it up and had no issues.

Perhaps you got a corrupt file or it didn't fully patch?

Thanks for reminding me! ... I also have a PC and began patching it after patching the mac version ... it had multiple problems and took an incredibly long time to patch (much longer than the Mac).

I re-ran the patcher about 4 hours after my first successful patch... and it found another file to patch. And now
everything works again.

It works perfectly for me. Except of course the usual glitches and such.

Thanks for posting this- looks like I should try patching again - I had the same issues as WHG.

I had the same issue as the original poster, but then just retried it upon reading the other posters... Worked great! Everything's up and running.

The clean termination issue is cleared by upgrading to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) -- which also required CrossOver 11.2.

PyLotRO and LOTRO now terminate cleanly, and the UserPreferences.ini file again updates normally.

(That file is only written on termination of the client.)
