server updates (for Alan)

I am not sure how to contact you otherwise Alan, so I am trying it this way.

Since the last server maintanance this week (they where bigger then normal) it is no longer possible to login using your client:

Initialising, please wait...
Available languages checked.
Fetched details from GLS data centre.
Realm list obtained.
World queue configuration read
Account authenticated
Error joining world queue

I think they changed some of the server info they return to the client as GLSDataCenter.config shows:

          <Name>[EN] Snowbourn</Name>
          **<LoginServerUrl>(invalid service specified)</LoginServerUrl>**
          <ChatServerUrl>94.75.194.41:2900</ChatServerUrl>
          <StatusServerUrl>http://94.75.194.7/status/cache_snowbourn.xml</StatusServerUrl>
          <Order>0</Order>

I dont have an older version of GLSDataCenter.config so not sure if its always been there or not.

the lotrolauncher.script shows a tad more and ends with:

The following servers are available:
0: [EN] Snowbourn
1: [FR] Sirannon
2: [EN] Eldar
3: [EN] Gilrain
4: [DE] Vanyar
5: [EN] Evernight
6: [FR-RP] Estel
7: [EN-RP] Laurelin
8: [DE-RP] Belegaer
9: [DE] Maiar
10: [DE] Morthond

Connecting to world login queue for realm [EN] Snowbourn...
http://195.33.152.250/login/login_queue.php:
2008-10-23 19:15:07 ERROR 404: Not Found.

Error: World login queue response indicates failure.

The loginserverurl has always said that, the problem seems to be in the status file for the realms (http://94.75.194.7/status/cache_snowbourn.xml)

<queueurls>;;</queueurls>

I've looked at two of the EN servers and one of the DE servers, both EN ones had just the ;; while the DE one had proper entries.
Looking at the official forums doesn't show a lot of angry people so they must no longer do the join world queue part of the login process.

I've hacked SNy's script to remove that stage and can login on the servers that had just the ;; for queueurls.

I can't test my theory correctly on the gui as I'm having problems running it on Ubuntu 8.10 due to a bug in their mono package but I think I know change that needs making (if you look at MainWindow.cs there is a bit which calls StartGame if usingDND or joins the world queue otherwise, change that to always run StartGame and it should work).

I've posted a solution over on the Ubuntu forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6020309&postcount=1524), I need people to check that it doesn't break things on the US servers or cause any other problems with the EU version (I've already had one abusive email this week because I didn't respond straight away to a problem).

Once I've got confirmation of the fix I'll update the source properly and rebuild the binaries for LotROLinux and LotROMac.

Hello Alan

thank you for your reply, I tested what you set:

change I made in MainWindow.cs:

            if (settings.UsingDND())
            {
                StartClient();
            } else {
                // EnterWorldQueue(realm.QueueURL);
                StartClient();

and you are correct, I can log in fine. I am not sure if this is gone remain working or not, you never know what they will change.

Thanks for you prompt responce.

just saw your post, your sollution is nicer and will work with and without the world queue :)
