I started playing lotro on a mac after book 13 so I haven't experienced a content update before. How would one go about patching to book 14 atfer it hits live servers tomorrow? Thanks!

The best way is to get the standalone patch, run that (can be done before tomorrow). Then when the servers come back on line use Tools -> Patch. Book updates always seem to cause the patcher to hang after patching is done (the patch server doesn't drop connect right or something).
The painful way is not to preload the patch and just run Tools -> Patch when the servers come up.
Either way find something to do while it patches as it takes ages :)
Think you could give me a link to the stand alone patch or a site where I can find it? Thanks.
It will be somewhere on www.lotro.com, the forums should have a link to it.
For me it doesnt work.
i had a EU client Book 13 and tried to patch it today with the launcher -> didnt work
Installed it again, with book 11 -> patched doesnt work
Install again from dvd with book 13 and pached -> doesnt work.
i also tried to install the standalone patch, i run the exe under the crossover wihtin the bootle hope that was correct, after that i wanted to patch it but it always stops at:

No it is patching but the scroll window isn't scrolling to the last line (I'm trying to work out how to get that bit working).
Best bet is to leave it for about 30-50 mins (I think that is how long mine took), see if it has finished patching (if your hard drive is clunking away it's a good sign it is working).
Hi
Thanks, very strange i started the patch after i wrote in this board again, and then the patch procress looks abit diffrent, i let it ran over night, but today there was again just the STOP button, which was not working, so i killed the process, and tried to start the game and it workes....

That is a known problem with big updates, the connection to the patch server doesn't drop after patching so my gui thinks it is still patching also something I can't fix as it is the call to patchclient that is causing the problem.
