Can't patch today.

LOTRO had a patch from last night.

My work iMac, which runs CXG and Pylotro just fine patched with no difficulty.

My home MacPro, which continues to only show LOTRO in a window (see other thread) will not patch, in fact if you access the PyLotro menu items, such as "options" or "patch" the whole window locks, requiring me to close CXG to close the window, the menu and the "x" button at top right all get greyed out and nothing will click on the window.

I reinstalled PyLotro with no change. My plan is to get a new bottle archive from my office machine and bring it home.

Still baffled at the strange behaviour of my MacPro - direct bottle archive from well running system, fresh installs of CXG and PyLotro, with very different results.

Anyone have a clue?

Thanks in advance

Based on what you've said I can't even make a guess. My only "concern" is that your MacPro install is already misbehaving, i.e. you can't get it in full screen mode, which may in turn be causing the second problem (and that is a wild totally uneducated guess).

Two quick things... :)

Just re-read the previous thread. Have you tried using WINECFG to use a virtual desktop? I know I've had trouble with the "no virtual desktop" and using in-game settings to change to full screen and window.

Also, this may be addressed in CXG 8.0, which is in testing now. Sit tight. :)

I plan to bring a patched bottle archive home from my work computer tonight.

I am planning a clean install of Snow Leopard when it comes out next month. Hoping at that point a clean install of CXG/PyLotro/Lotro works better.

Thanks for the help guys.

I managed to bring a bottle archive home that would not install. I decided to try a fresh install again.

1) found and deleted some more parallels files
2) deleted my old LOTROMOM bottle, and installed a fresh win2000 bottle.
3) installed pylotro
4) fresh install from the installer listed at the top of the forum page - from the australian source.

Success on the patching, and the windowing issue. This seems to have fixed both the issues. No clue which part worked.

Tonight I will install my new GTX 285 card and see how things work.

Jumped too early to the GTX 285 card, it keeps failing after the character selection screen. I tried virtual screen, windowed and everything.

I suspect it will take Snow Leopard, CXG 8, and a newer driver for the card for it all to work out.

downloading Win 7 for boot camp to play with for the next month or so for the mac stuff to come to fruition.

I will retract the bit about the card. I went in and added the video memory registry and it is working with "medium" graphics. I had one hitch in an instance last night, so my number of 1024 might be wrong. I plan to retry with "high" graphics. I will try hi rez if all that works, I currently have hi rez turned off in options.
